Muscat, 16 March 2025: As part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, Grand Millennium Muscat has announced Ramadan initiatives aimed at raising awareness about food wastage, while promoting sustainability, and encouraging mindful consumption.
The hotel is launching a series of impactful activities designed to engage guests and inspire positive change.
Recognising the increased focus on food preparation during Ramadan and the potential for heightened food waste, Grand Millennium Muscat is taking proactive steps to address this important issue, starting internally. In March, the hotel will walk the talk by conducting awareness sessions for all staff members about food waste. As the hotel notes, this initiative will reflect its staff’s commitment and spirit, inspiring guests, both directly and indirectly, to follow suit.
The hotel will also roll out several initiatives, with sustainability measures, awareness programmes on food wastage, and active participation in Earth Hour activities as key highlights.

To encourage positive engagements with guests and patrons throughout Ramadan, thought-provoking awareness quotes promoting sustainability and mindful eating habits will be strategically placed throughout the hotel. These messages aim to spark conversations, inspire positive change, and encourage guests to make conscious choices.
Grand Millennium Muscat will also continue to uphold its commitment to utilise resources responsibly and minimise negative impacts on the environment, society, and economy. Towards this end, the hotel will join the global movement to raise awareness about energy conservation by participating in Earth Hour – a worldwide event dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability. On the designated day, the hotel will turn off non-essential lighting, with hotel staff and guests coming together to observe the hour of reflection, ensuring collective action toward environmental protection.
Highlighting the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and the importance of these initiatives, Dina Dawood, Cluster Marketing Manager stated: “At Grand Millennium Muscat, we are committed to sustainable practices, and these initiatives are a reflection of our dedication to minimising our environmental impact and contributing to a more responsible community. Ramadan is a time for reflection and generosity, and we believe it’s also an important opportunity to address the issue of food waste.”
The hotel’s Ramadan initiatives are part of its broader CSR program, which focuses on environmental sustainability, community engagement, and ethical business practices.
