MUSCAT : It was a lavish treat of watching classic European films at the second European Union Festival which concluded on September 28th at the posh Cinepolis theatre in Avenue Mall, Ghobra in Muscat.
Hosted by The International Film Foundation of Oman (IFFO) the European Union delegation to Oman and Embassies of European Union states showcased 24 films from this nine EU states.
Sudha Sha, Convenor, IFFO, said, “we have successfully concluded the second edition of the Film Fest with brainstorming sessions, workshops that brought together film enthusiasts, students and filmmakers”.
During the week aspiring filmmakers attended a workshop on making short films by Italian filmmaker Edorado Bellino.
The festival closed with the 2019 Omani film Zayana directed by Dr Khalid Al Zadjali.
The film dealt with women issues in the society.
Though the attendance was not impressive on the closing day, but the film festival left a filled experience of good films showcased in Oman, said a film enthusiast.
