Embassies of Nepal and China Co-Organize Diplomatic Hiking Event to Celebrate Oman’s National Day

Muscat, Oman — November 28, 2025: Connecting with mountains and nature has long been a cherished passion among Nepali citizens, and this spirit came alive as the Nepali community, led by His Excellency Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman, joined hands with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Oman to celebrate Oman’s National Day with a joint “Diplomatic Hiking” event.

The hike, held on Friday, November 28, took participants along the picturesque Muttrah–Riyam trail, crossing mountain paths overlooking the Arabian Sea and the iconic Muttrah Corniche.

His Excellency Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal, and His Excellency Lyu Jian, Ambassador of China, jointly led the hiking group, accompanied by their spouses, embassy officials, media representatives, and Omani friends. The event served as a symbol of the strong bilateral friendship between Nepal, China, and the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting shared respect for Oman’s heritage and natural beauty.

In addition to strengthening diplomatic ties, the event featured an important environmental conservation initiative. Participants actively collected plastic bottles and other waste along the trail, demonstrating a collective commitment to protecting Oman’s natural environment. Both embassies highlighted that this initiative not only enriched the National Day celebration but also promoted goodwill, eco-awareness, and tourism among the participating nations.

Both Ambassadors expressed their appreciation to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. They also extended thanks to the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman for coordinating with local authorities and ensuring that an ambulance was available throughout the hike for safety support. The Ambassadors affirmed their intention to organize similar collaborative events in the future.
