The 2018 GMC turbocharged Terrain is accelerating to make an impact

July 22, 2018

The 2018  GMC Terrain has good looks, premium interior, cutting edge technology and an option of two turbocharged engines –all for RO9995 onwards. The vehicle comes with complimentary service up to 60,000km directly from the manufacturer, General Motors.

Launched earlier this year in the Oman market in SLE and SLT trims with a choice of nine attractive colours, the new Terrain has shed around 400 pounds with only a marginal difference in head or legroom space. It has a distinctive grille with striking C-shaped LED signature lights and complimenting tail lights as well.

A range of two turbocharged engines, including the new 1.5L with 170-hp and 2.0L with 252-hp, are paired with nine-speed automatic transmissions, advanced Stop/Start technology and cap-less fuel fill. The new Electronic Precision Shift has freed up more storage room in the central console by replacing the conventional transmission shifter with electronically controlled gear selection of push and pull switches that resemble power window controls.

The traction select system allows an option for Front Wheel Drive (FWD) to optimise fuel economy for daily driving, All Wheel Drive (AWD) to maximise traction control and Off-Road drive wherein the AWD system is adjusted for traction and stability control for smoother ride on dirt, gravel or sand.

Refined interiors and designing, comfortable seating, active noise cancellation and one of the best infotainment interfaces in the class are features seamlessly integrated for a luxurious customer experience. The back seats fold flat with the pull of a lever and the additional space freed up with the option of the new fold-flat front passenger seat, offers greater versatility for stowing items up to eight feet long. A hands-free power programmable liftgate, makes loading cargo easier as well.

The expanded range of radar and camera-based safety technologies not only help to manoeuvre parking but also minimise potential accidents. These include forward-collision warning, low-speed automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and new safety alert seat.
