With GMC’s remote start and cool feature, that is standard in all vehicles, there is no longer the need to brace the sweltering heat
6 August 2017, Muscat: One of the most daunting prospects of Oman summer is to get into a parked car; more so, if the seats are of leather. In just 10 minutes, the temperature of a parked vehicle can rise 20 degrees making the vehicle significantly hotter than the air outside the car. That is the reason it has been stressed and reiterated so often by ROP not to leave children or pets in the car.
With regard to summoning courage to get into a hot car, GMC has an easy solution at hand. Standard option in all vehicles, the remote start and cool feature allows one to get into a car that is already acclimated to your temperature preference ensuring ultimate convenience and comfort of their customers.
There is no extra remote to be carried; simply press a button on your car fob from your location indoors five minutes before the drive and the car turns on. The parking lights will flash to confirm the signal has been received. However, this does not pose a safety hazard as the vehicle will stay locked until you unlock it and the key will need to be turned in the ignition to put the car in gear. At any time, if your plans change, you can just turn off the remote start with the press of a button with equal ease.
“In summers, this has been a feature that is much appreciated by customers as you don’t have to brace yourself to get into a stuffy car and wait for the air conditioning to kick in,” says Virendra Agarwal, CEO – Moosa Abdul Rahman & Co LLC.
