1 November 2016, Muscat: The much awaited all-new GMC 2017 Acadia comes packed with an expanded range of available active safety features and new 310 HP 3.6L V6 powertrain – offers buyers a truly compelling package.
The latest 2017 GMC Acadia is a reimagined crossover offering customers a midsize crossover positioned between the compact Terrain and full-size Yukon. Available in three distinct trim levels that include SLE, SLT and Denali, the starting price is from RO 13699. Acadia SLE FWD and SLT come standard with a three-year/60,000 kilometers scheduled service package while Acadia Denali benefits from a four-year/80,000 Kilometers schedule service package. All trims are complemented by a three-year/100,000 kilometers manufacturer warranty, as well as four years of 24/7 Roadside Assistance. Depending on the model, it is available with five-, six- or seven-passenger seating, while offering greater maneuverability and enhanced driving dynamics over the first-generation model.
The new Acadia is 318 kg lighter than the outgoing model, which pays dividends with fuel efficiency. Its driving dynamics are also more responsive, while its shorter length and narrower width enable greater maneuverability for easier turning in parking decks and parking in home garages.
A new standard 3.6L V-6 engine is more powerful and efficient, while offering over 1800 kg of estimated trailering capability (with the available towing package). It delivers 310 horsepower and 9.41 L/100km highway (FWD models). In addition, the Acadia’s new engines feature direct injection, variable valve timing and active fuel management. The new V6 is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled drive mode selector.
As a contemporary crossover designed for families on the go, the 2017 Acadia offers the latest active safety features to protect them, as well as the latest technologies to keep them connected. One such feature is the Front Pedestrian Braking and Surround Vision Camera that is designed to help make drivers more aware of their surroundings and potential crash situations. With this in mind, the vehicle is also equipped with a new, standard rear seat alert that can remind the driver when an item may have been left in the second- and third-row seats.
When it comes to connectivity, the Acadia is plugged in with available phone integration technology through GMC’s available IntelliLink system, making it easy to connect to some of the features smartphone users rely on most.
“After a full re-design, the all-new 2017 GMC Acadia is smaller and lighter but its advanced, refined and versatile features will ensure an enhancement in its appeal. It is capable to posing a strong challenge to any existing high-end SUV,” stated Virendra Aggarwal, CEO – Moosa Abdul Rahman and Co LLC.
“The 2017 Acadia SLE is loaded with a number of safety, design, and performance enhancements yet still costs as much as the previous model,” said Mohsen Kassem, Regional Marketing and Sales Manager, GMC Middle East. “This is a strong testament to GMC’s commitment to positioning its premium products as the segment best in terms of safety and technological features.”
