Assistant Editor You must be a graduate
or post graduate or equivalent and have a
diploma in Journalism with at least 3 –
5 years editorial experience and currently
be working in an editorial capacity, with
any leading English publication. You must
be PC and Internet literate, and preferably
have a GCC/Oman driving licence. As Asst.
Editor you must be personable and friendly,
and be able to make industry contacts. You
must be able to work independently and be
confident in leading a business and economy
publication.
You will be writing and commissioning news,
features, profiles and interviews. You will
edit and rewrite contributor copy, and manage
them effectively to make sure the publication
is kept to schedule. As Assistant Editor you
will be interviewing industry figures, attending
conferences and exhibitions, and representing
our publications. You will plan and create
feature articles and take catchy photos to
compliment them. As Assistant Editor you will
liaise with the production team to agreed
layouts and print qualities, and to ensure
the title is published on time. You will also
be involved with the product development of
the brand, thinking up new spin off ideas
for the division.
